August Wednesday Evening Open Paddles

Join Charles for a leisurely paddle on the La Salle River. This paddle starts and ends at the Canoe - Kayak Launch at La Barriere Park, just past the Paddle Manitoba Paddling Centre. Paddles depart at 6:30 pm sharp. You can join in two ways:

Bring your own Boats

You will also need your own paddles, pfd, whistle, throw bag and other Transport Canada required gear. Be sure to arrive with enough time to unload, park, and bring your boats to the launch. Fill out a waiver and bring it with you if you are planning to attend. You only need to complete one for the season. 

Rent one of our Boats

Paddle Manitoba does have a limited number of canoes, kayaks and SUPs available for rent through our Paddling Centre at the launch for use during Wednesday Evening Open Paddles. PFDs, safety kits, and paddles are included. The fee for rental is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. 
If you plan on renting, you must contact treasurerpaddlemanitoba@gmail.com by the Sunday before the event. If boats are available, you must also complete and sign the rental agreement  and waiver and send them to treasurerpaddlemanitoba@gmail.com. The fee must also be sent by e-transfer to the same email address. Weather cancellations will defer to the following Wednesday Evening Open Paddle. Note that renters must arrive a minimum 30 minutes before departure at 7:00 pm and stay until the end of the event to be sure boats are cleaned and returned to the Paddling Centre.

MEC Winnipeg store has offered a 15% discount* event for the summer for all Paddle Manitoba members every Wednesday in August. Members must show proof of their Paddle Manitoba membership to receive the discount at the till (membership purchase receipt).  They must also be signed up with MEC Member Rewards (you can join for free with your purchase).
